The mission took place from February 25th to March 5th, 2017 in the city of San Salvador in El Salvador. The event ” workshop among the National Blood programmes, Blood Banks and volunteer donors Associations in El Salvador and Guatemala and Organization, Fidelization and Management Course” was held within the project “Improvement in transfusion safety and quality in Bolivia, El Salvador and Guatemala”.
The goals of the mission were:
– analyse the information about transfusion systems;
– volunteers training;
– realize experimental projects between Associations and Blood Banks;
– realize agreements between Blood Banks and Associations.
Thanks to this project, AVIS and FIODS get close to these nations to share experiences and competences, in order for them to reach independence and guarantee patients access to the transfusion therapies they need.
The Italian delegation in mission is composed of the FIODS president Gian Franco Massaro, the national vicarial vice-president of AVIS Alberto Argentoni, the coordinator of the AVIS national Medical Commitee Bernardino Spaliviero and the IILA director Mauro Vandali.
